A note from the organizers
Hi there! We are so pleased to bring you this new spin on vacation bible school
provided by Sussex County Bible Church (SCBC).
The directors, Pete and Kate Green have directed or been involved in youth/kids
ministry, camps and events since 1999. We have organized and facilitated
numerous camps and events such as week long beach camps, week long sports
camps, vacation bible school, kid's fest, a pro skateboard demo with 1200 in
attendance, and our weekly camp formerly known as Reliance Skim School.
Safety
Running a successful day camp means providing a safe environment for all
campers. Most of us being parents ourselves, take the safety of your kid/teen very
seriously. Skimboarding of course has inherent risk because it is an ocean sport.
We will therefore have a multi-level supervisory system in place to avoid injury.
Please see below for a summary of our supervisory structure.
Level 1: Your skimmer will be immediately supervised at all times by a camp
instructor. At no time under any circumstances will your child be left
unattended.
Level 2: Skimmers will be grouped according to age and ability with ability taking
precedence. Additionally, the skim groups will be kept small. These measures in
tandem provide a safer skimming environment.
Level 3: Your skimmer's instructor will be supervised by at least one of the camp
directors (a mature adult) at all times.
Level 4: The beach and camp location has been strategically chosen to be in a low
beach-goer traffic zone within State Park Lifeguard reach.
